Kilchoman Casado 2022

Portuguese for marriage, Casado was matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before being finished for 2 years in a pair of Portuguese red wine vats. The limited edition bottling is free from chill filtration and bottled at 46% abv. Heavily peated, and distinctly Islay.

Expect aromas of burning oak, stoned fruits, candied almonds and sea spray, leading to a palate full of black pepper, lemon zest, peaches and apricots with a undercurrent of smoke. On the close, stewed plums and red berries linger on.
